Indian Classical poet Tagore describes Taj Mahal as a ‘tear on the face of eternity’ with a reason. A glimpse of this town gives one the true feel of Moghul Architecture with a combination of Ottoman, Turkish, Islamic, Persian and Indian elements. This led to the recognition of Taj Mahal as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983. On the other hand, the white domed marbled mausoleum is a dominant structure attracting many visitors to this Indian town.

0630 Hrs - From Delhi to Agra is a distance of 204 kms for 5 hours.
12.00 Hrs - Arrival to Agra. Once in Agra, you visit the Agra Red Fort which sits on the River Yamuna banks. The fort’s dominating figure is hard to miss and it has a rich history as well. It was built by Akbar in 1565AD. The Agra fort has a 70 foot high wall that was meant to secure it from intruders. Within the fort’s precinct is a breathtaking Pearl mosque and numerous palaces like the Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Jahangiri Mahal and Moti Masjid. There are four gates that safeguard the fort. At the same time, double barricaded walls of red sand stones act as an enclosure.
After enjoying these beautiful sites, one can get to either a hotel or restaurant for lunch.
After trying out the various Indian or other delicacies for lunch, a visitor can then get to Taj Mahal. It has numerous descriptions by poets and visitors alike. It is described as the ‘jewel of Muslim art in India’. Many regard it as the best example of Moghul Architecture. The fine work of art was an expression of love by Emperor Shah Jahan who used the fine piece to immortalize his dead wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
The mausoleum was built over a period of 22 years from 1632 to 1645 AD by more than 22,000 artisans. The result is the towering architecture carefully designed with adjacent buildings and gardens.
If time allows, a visitor can watch the local craftsmen with their hands busy on their marble inlay work.
