Amazing Ladakh
Ladakh is bikers’ paradise and a popular Buddhist pilgrimage destination. While khardungla is the highest motorable road in the world; Hemis and Kyie monasteries are one of the most revered monasteries.
Apart from the above, Ladakh thrills you with is scale. You find yourself awed by the towering snow capped mountains of the great Himalayas. Mighty rivers, deep gorges, expanding valleys and huge lakes with crystal clear water give you a surreal feeling. If you are a wildlife enthusiast you will find rare animals like wild yak, ibex and Tibetan antelope.
You need to plan your Ladakh holiday before time as availability is limited and Ladkah is open to tourists only during the Indian summer.

Destination Covered: Leh - Monasteries - Sham Valley - Nubra Valley - Pangong Lake
Day 1: Leh
Experience one of the Most Sensational Flights in The World on your journey to Leh Kushok Bakula Airport. On a clear day the view from both sides of the aircraft is spectacular. On one side, in the distance, the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum are breathtaking while on the other side of the aircraft, so close that it appears touchable, is the Nun Kun Massif. A representative from the tour will meet you on disembarking from the aircraft and will u to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day can be used for rest and relaxation to properly acclimatize followed by Welcome tea or Coffee at the Hotel.
There is an evening visit planned to Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and Leh Market. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 2: Leh to Excursion in Sham Valley
After breakfast you can drive downstream along the River Indus on the Leh to Kargil Highway. Sightseeing starts with a visit to Hall of Fame which is the Museum Constructed by the India Army near Leh. It is worth a visit for every Indian. We’ll proceed further to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib Nestled deep in the Himalayas, A drive of another 4 km takes us to Magnetic Hill, a place which defies gravity and then further on, through a picturesque landscape, we reach the Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar River. After completing this tour we’ll head back to Leh stopping by to visit Spituk Monastery. Built in the 15th Century during the reign of Grags‘bum-lde, this new Gelug-pa monastery was built like a fortress on the summit of thr crags. The evening hours can be spent at your leisure with an overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley Via Khardung La 18,390 Ft. (120 Kms in approx. 4 - 5 Hrs)
After breakfast we’ll drive to Nubra Valley. The road from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La. Khardung La is the Highest Road In The World that is accessible to motor vehicles and stands at an altitude of 5,602 mtrs (18,390 ft). Khardung La is about 39 km from Leh. From the pass it is possible to see all the way south over the Indus valley to the undulating peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. above sea level.
Check in at Nubra is at a Camp/Hotel in Hunder for an overnight stay. Dinner will be served there as well. It is a treat to use your evening to walk around the tiny villages to see how the locals live and the cultural diversity in this part of the world. If desired, a visit to a Ladakhi home can be arranged.
Day 4: Nubra Valley to Leh (120 Kms in Approx. 4 - 5 Hrs)
An early breakfast is in order after which we will check out from the Camp and drive to Hunder where you can experience an exotic ride on a bacterian camel (double humped) through the sand dunes of this high altitude desert with the contrast of the snow capped mountains on the horizon. Between Hunder and Diskit you come across sand dunes beside the road. If taken in isolation they could be mistaken for the sand dunes of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan only these have a backdrop of the characteristic rocky mountain landscape of the Ladakhi area capped by snowy mountain peaks in the distance. Diskit which is the headquarter town of Nubra Valley will be visited on returning. The bazaar with their shops and buzzing natives prove an intriguing diversion. The most notable spot in Diskit is a 515 year old Buddhist Monastery spread spectacularly on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley.
The journey back to Leh in the late afternoon will be via Khardungla Top. In Leh you can check in to your hotel and spend the afternoon in rest and relaxation.
Day 5: Leh to Pangong Lake (One Way Trip of 140 kms in Approx. 4 - 5 Hrs)
Following an early breakfast we will leave for Pangong Lake visiting Shey Palace and 3 Idiots Rancho School en route. Shey Palace is the ancient capital of Ladakh. Driving through a beautifully scenic landscape for another 5 kms is Thiksey, an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. Two other monasteries will be visited before going on to Changla Pass (5486 mtrs). The long winding roads of the pass present a gentle ascent through Sakti Village. There is a chance for a brief photographic session with a quick drive down to the village of Tangtse for a relaxing cup of tea. There are a few small villages of Changthang on the way from Tangtse to Pangong preceding a sudden view of the Pangong Lake situated at 4,267 mtrs (14,000 ft). This lake is well known for its briny, black traits. It is 5 or 6kms wide and over 133kms in length and runs along the "Indo China Border." The scenery is majestic and inspires closeness to nature. Check in is at our Camp near Pangong Lake where dinner will be served and we will be accommodated for the night.
Day 6: Pangong Lake to Leh (140 kms in Approx. 6 Hrs)
The morning hours can be spent at your leisure exploring the beauty of the lake. Later we will drive back to Leh en route to visiting Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu, Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Check in at the hotel for the final overnight stay in Leh. The evening hours can be spent parading the market place for possible souvenirs.
Day 7: Fly Out from Leh
Tour concludes. We would like to thank you for your patronage and promise a punctual transfer to the Domestic Airport for your return flight.
